TBird problems reading large emails from IMAP Inbox folder.

ThunderBird encounter caching problems when reading large emails from IMAP folders. The following is a solution to that problem. The error reveals itself when you for example read an email with large picture attachments from the Inbox. You might discover that only a part of the picture is rendered. This is due to the way TBird caches the connections. This issue might be solved in later versions of TBird, but as far as version 2.x.x.xx goes this work-around might be easiest.

Howto change three specific variables in Windows version of ThunderBird:

Tools-Options-Advanced-Config and filter by "mail.imap."

Change the highlighted variables as you see them in the picture below and restart ThunderBird.

The default value of mail.imap.max_cached_connections was probably 10. When you double click or press Return on this variable, you are presented with a pop-up window in which you can edit the 10 to a 0.
